my weekend goosebumps

by gracejack

Hello Everyone! Welcome back to my channel! In the spirit of Halloween, I am going to spend the next week reading a Goosebumps book a day. The story behind this reading challenge is actually really funny. I was talking to my friends last week and they were reminiscing over the Goosebumps books and I was like “well I’ve never read any of them before”. They gasped and went “but you’re a BookTuber!”. I consider myself more of a literary enthusiast, but regardless, I knew I needed to do some sort of read-a-thon. It is quite late right now, but I will see you tomorrow morning with the first book!

Good morning everyone! I just got back from my morning run, made a coffee, and I am ready for my first day of my Goosebumps read-a-thon! We are going to start off strong with a supposed fan-favorite called “Clowns in Trees”by R. L. Stine. I really don’t want to make any assumptions going into this, so I am just going to start reading and I’ll see y’all when I finish it.

Holy moly did that give me “goosebumps”! Look at my arms! Watch out Stephen King, cuz R. L. Stine is coming for your throne. “Clowns in Trees” follows three kids, Elijah, Luke, and Matthew on a Christian Mission Trip throughout West Africa. In-between their camp and the towns they are visiting, is a lush rainforest. So, every day they must trek through the jungle, once in the morning and once at night. I’m not going to spoil the ending but let’s just say that they may run into some clowns in trees on their way home. I really liked this book because it was just an excellent metaphor for the struggles we endure to share the word of God. That is it for today, I will see you all tomorrow with the second book!

It’s currently 8:06pm, and I’m just now realizing that I forgot to film my review of today’s book! Today I read “The Dentist of Doom!” By R.L. Stine. First of all just look at this cover!! It will definitely be a show-stopper on my bookshelf. “The Dentist of Doom!” is really all about who has authority to be in your mouth, what they can do once they’re in there, and so much more. I can confidently say that I will think twice the next time someone wants to poke around in my mouth. Sadly this book was more introspective than chilling, but overall a good read.

Hello again! It is day three and I JUST finished reading “The House on Honey Lane” By R.L. Stine. Guys, this book was phenomenal! Think: “Monster House” meets “The Bee Movie”. It was silly and spooky, and sticky! I would definitely classify this as my favorite so far, but we have two more days left in the challenge, so we shall see!

Okay so, it’s day four and the two other books I wanted to read weren’t at my local bookshop and my online order never arrived! I guess that means I have to end the video here, but before I do, I just want to thank today’s sponsor: Audible. Audible is the leading provider of audio books. They have over 180,000 of audio books to ch…
